PRIES - William "Bill" Jacob

October 27, 1913 - February 11, 2009

With sorrowful regret, we mark the passing of our beloved Father, William "Bill" Pries on February 11, 2009. Dad died peacefully at 8:00pm in Mission Memorial Hospital with his family at his side. Predeceased by his wife, Katharina "Trina" Pries, infant son, Jacob and son-in-law Wally Wruck. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his four daughters whom he deeply loved and was deeply loved by; Orlen Wruck, Lenora (Ron) Knaack, Shirley (Bill) Rowell and Elsie (Leonard) Wruck. As well as, 11 Grandchildren and their spouses along with 18 Great Grandchildren. Born an eleven pound baby on October 27, 1913 to Jacob Esau and Katharina (Funk) Pries in Barkfield, Manitoba, He later met and married Katharina Toews (Funk) on October 07, 1934 in Grenthal, Manitoba. Together with their girls they moved to BC in August of 1947 where they settled in various parts of the Fraser Valley. He later made Mission his final home. Bill was a painter by trade and was known to be a hard worker as well as a good provider for his family. Bill had many friends, all of whom he was always friendly with, had a big smile for and that special sparkle in his eye. He enjoyed travel, fishing, hunting and was known for his great passion for driving a new car, of which he owned a few! Yet his true passion was with his family for which he helped create the close-knit bond that they will always treasure. Above all else, Bill loved and devoted his life to his Creator, Jehovah God and showed this by teaching his children the wonderful hope of the paradise, that the Bible promises. He spent many of his 95 years sharing this hope with friends and neighbours. A memorial of his life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 2:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1672 Salton Road, Abbotsford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the World Wide Education Work of Jehovah's Witnesses.
