LETTER: Don’t forget your pets as temperatures drop

It’s too cold to be leaving companion animals, cats and dogs, outdoors at night or for very long during the day.

It’s too cold to be leaving companion animals, cats and dogs, outdoors at night or for very long during the day.

With temperatures near and below zero paws and noses can freeze.

While thinking about our pets, remember a nice Christmas present for all pets and their guardians would be to have the animal spayed or neutered, checked for health condition, tattooed in case they are ever lost and better still, make a conscious decision to retain the cat or dog as an indoor companion.

Be wise, be kind and be careful so your pet does not freeze to death.
