Situation in Mission school district not warm and fuzzy

Mission parents still forced to pay for basic necessities

Re: Let the good work continue in Mission's public schools, Jan. 12 edition.

The finances of school district 75 are in shambles, relationship with the union and morale are at an all-time low, overspending is rampant, and the superintendent seems to rule the district without any opposition (with nearly $200,000 in salary and perks). Parents, in the meantime, are to pay more and more for even the most basic necessities and kids are struggling more than before.

While I like to keep things positive, let's face it, past trustees have failed our kids miserably. It's time to cut the crap and bring solutions. Some (although I'd hoped all) trustees have been replaced, and that's a good first step. Let's think outside the box, for our kids' sake.
