Get a team together for roller hockey
An adult roller hockey league is starting up this year, and registration is ongoing until March 18.
An information/registration session is happening this Saturday at the Mission Springs Brewing Company from 2 to 3 p.m., and on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.
People (19 and older) who register are entered into a draw for free registration next season, and the winner will be selected at the year end dinner.
Everybody entered will also receive a 10 per cent discount card for Sports Zone in Abbotsford to use for the entire MAC Roller Hockey Season.
The league goes from April 5 until June 27, and games will be played every Wednesday between 5 and 10 p.m. All contests will be held in the Mission Leisure Centre's south arena, and the league will be capped at 10 teams.
It will be four-on-four hockey, with three 15-minute periods. A tie leads to a three-man shootout, and there will be no hitting or fighting.
You can register any time during the week at Valley Combat and Tactical (604-851-2635) in Abbotsford at 33496 South Fraser Way.
Cost is $155 per person and/or $2,000 per team, with a minimum 11 people and maximum of 15. Goalies are free.
