Fight fans in the Fraser Valley have another opportunity to see some talented young boxers in December.

Fresh off the successful Boxing BC provincials event in Abbotsford in October, the Tournament of Champions, presented by the Abbotsford-Mission Boxing Club, is set to take over the Durieu School building in Hatzic on Dec. 3.

A trio of Mission boxers are slated to enter the ring for the bout, with Ivan Boyd being the most experienced in the group. Boyd, 18, has fought five times and fights in the 160-pound weight division.

Other Mission boxers entering the ring include: 17-year-old Kabeer Poonia and 13-year-old Aarman Dhillon. Poonia has fought four times, while Dhillon has battled once. Poonia is set to compete in the 150-pound division, and Dhillon competes in the 130-pound group.

Other AMBC boxers participating at the event include: Abbotsford’s Carson Dyck, Chilliwack’s Robert Smith and Abbotsford’s Jake Aubrey.

Doors open for the event at 6 p.m, with fights kicking off at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door, and $15 for students.
