The playoff run is officially over for the Mission Cedar Kings.

After advancing to the West Central Senior C Lacrosse League semi-finals by eliminating the Ladner Pioneers last week, the Kings were matched up with the undefeated Coquitlam Adanacs for a best-of-three series.

With a trip to the WCSCLL finals on the line, Coquitlam edged Mission 14-11 in Port Coquitlam on July 27, and then earned the sweep with a narrow 8-7 win over the Kings in Port Coquitlam on Saturday.

Brenton Graham (three), Gavan Sand (three) John Makowsky (two), Owen Munro, Rod Sailes and Travis Laycock tallied for Mission in game one, with goalie Jeff Lissimore stopping 45 shots in a losing cause.

Graham (three), Sand, Munro, Harry Senkler and Jim Nishiyama lit the lamp in game two, while Lissimore made 28 saves.

While the WCSCLL season may be over for the Cedar Kings, their time on the floor in 2017 isn’t completely done yet.

Mission heads to the Senior C Lacrosse B.C. Provincials in Prince George, which runs from Aug. 11 to 13.
