CHAMBER CONNECTION: Major project handbook released

56242missionMissionHandbookCover

The Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to be able to offer all registered businesses in Mission the ability to get out in front of the major construction projects occurring in Mission over the next five years.

With up to $1 billion in infrastructure projects scheduled, there are great opportunities for local businesses.

Developed as an online tool for those tendering or bidding on major projects, such as the Ruskin Dam Upgrade, the handbook provides a procurement listing based on trades and supplies, transportation, goods and services, and property offered by Mission business. It also includes a map of the local area, and comprehensive community information regarding municipal contacts, emergency services and organizations that offer support services.

While all residential business license holders in Mission will be listed, chamber members are highlighted and have the opportunity to include a linked web address and e-mail, as well as a 50-word description of the goods and services they offer.

The first edition was distributed to BC Hydro and was included in its Ruskin Dam Upgrade procurement information on BC Bid. A revised edition will be available in September with information to be updated semi-annually.

The handbook is distributed virtually to all those with major projects over $1 million as part of the partnership with the economic development office. Chamber members also have access to the book to encourage local business to business transactions.
