Come downtown, feel appreciated tonight

A number of First Avenue businesses are hosting a Customer Appreciation Night Oct. 25

A number of First Avenue businesses are hosting a special event this evening to thank their customers.

Five downtown shops are participating in the Customer Appreciation Night, and each will feature a number of specials on merchandise, refreshments and friendly service.

“This is an opportunity for business in downtown Mission to have people come down and do a walkabout,” said Carlo Billinger, co-owner of Rex Cox Men’s Wear.

He says he still regularly hears from local residents who, in some cases, have lived in the district for years and have never shopped on  First Avenue.

“Come see what’s down here,” he offered.

Aside from Rex Cox, Uncommon Thredz, Swing Optical, Gold Bin and Goody Two Shoes are eager to greet you this evening (Oct. 25).

Gemma Quiring, owner of Goody Two Shoes, is launching a new line at the event called Good Works. This company produces leather wraparound bracelets and donates 25 per cent of net profits to charities.

Quiring said this night is “an opportunity to give back to the customers and to thank them for their support throughout the year.”

The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m.
