Explore local attractions

April is time to finally get outdoors and explore all that Mission has to offer. The tourism committee of the Mission chamber encourages residents to visit local attractions.

Whether it is going back in time at the Power House at Stave Falls, or enjoying a boat ride up the Fraser, Mission offers a lot to do. You’ll find friendly faces of neighbours looking forward to show you the fun side of Mission.

Looking to explore on your own? Mission offers many trails and walks with vistas and flora seen nowhere else in the valley. Visit Heritage Park’s new trail or ride up the challenging trails of Red Mountain. Don’t forget the weather here can change quickly with elevation so be prepared, and let others know if you plan to head into the back country.

If arts and culture is more your interest, look for the Yellow Banner Tour being launched in May. It highlights many of the places and events along the cultural trail of Highway 7. The many events and festivals that happen in Mission can be found on the chamber website calendar (www.missionchamber.bc.ca ).

Stop by the chamber to pick up the 2011 Visitor Guide and begin your journey right in your own backyard.
