Mission Chamber elects new board members at AGM

New board members are sworn in during the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Annual General Meeting held on March 13.

There is a new slate of directors joining the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on March 13 at Copper Hall in downtown Mission.

The highlight of the event was the election and induction of the Chamber’s Board of Directors for the upcoming term. Three board members were re-elected (Celine Dauphney, Eleanor Christison, and Stephen Evans), while seven new members were welcomed onto the board. The new board members are:

  • Allison Jack, WorkBC Centre Mission
  • Martin Steenblok, Steam It! Weed N’ Clean
  • Troy Dickson, Taylor, Tait, Ruley, & Co.
  • Ammar Nabod, Myriad Technologies
  • Jay Matte, Pressland Printing
  • Petr Basel, Blue Jay ProWash
  • Scott Harding, S.A.H. Restoration Ltd.

Mission Mayor Paul Horn presided over the induction and swearing-in ceremony, emphasizing the importance of leadership in the business community.

According to a press release, the “Mission Chamber extends its deepest gratitude to the outgoing board members for their dedicated service and invaluable contributions to the organization. Their leadership and commitment have played a crucial role in supporting and advocating for local businesses.”

 The release went on to say that Horn also unveiled a new and expanded service agreement between the City of Mission and the Chamber. “This partnership will enhance business-centric events and services in the community, with a particular focus on supporting first-time entrepreneurs.”

“As we navigate the challenges of the current political landscape, the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce remains steadfast in its mission to support and advocate for our local businesses,” said returning Chamber President, Celine Dauphney. “We are excited for the year ahead and look forward to working collaboratively to create new opportunities for businesses in Mission.”
