The Mission Record won gold Saturday night for one of its advertisements.
Crystal Orchison, sales representative, and Kevin Plastow, graphic artist, collaborated on a colour ad for Rex Cox Men’s Wear, and earned first place in the B.C. Yukon Community Newspaper Association Ma Murray Awards, held this past weekend at River Rock Casino in Richmond.
The judges wrote: “Photos are well integrated with the text. Models look real, engaging, and are a good representation of the target audience. Deft use of white space keeps the ad polished and readable.”
The work was entered in the ad design award, under 25,000 circulation.
The Powell River Peak took second place, and the Coast Reporter earned third in the category in the annual competition.
