The Mission Health Care Auxiliary has many dedicated, long-time members who give generously of their time.

In the past few months, the Mission Record has featured three members - including Lorraine Hughes and Eleanor Lobb, who joined in 1961 (61 years ago), and Cynthia Butcher, who joined in 1988.

Seven more members have given many years of service to MHCA including:

Marcella Cividino who joined in 1969, more than 50 years ago. Cividino works at the Cottage Thrift Shop, has set up televisions for patients at Mission Memorial Hospital (MMH) and knitted hundreds of pairs of socks sold at the Gift Shop and the Cottage. She is a Life member of MHCA.

Justine Dickenson joined in 1975 and has always worked at the Cottage where she has been Convener, in charge of scheduling members shifts and made many birthday cakes.

Edna Rempel joined in 1977 and worked at the Cottage for many years, in charge of the children’s clothes.

Marlene Brown joined in 1985. She works at the Cottage, has been the Recording Secretary for the Executive, Treasurer for the Cottage and Convener of the Phoning Committee.

Joanne Adams joined in 1987. Adams was President of MHCA in 1991-92 and works at the Cottage and at the Gift Shop.

Sally Buchanan joined in 1989 and works at the Gift Shop.

Ethel Hooge joined in 1990. She was President of MHCA in 2000-2001, Convener and Treasurer for the Gift Shop and for MHCA, and she has worked on the Television Service, at the Gift Shop and on Reception.

Members of MHCA make new friends and get satisfaction from giving back to the community.
