Abbotsford farm plans world’s largest goat yoga class

Event on June 22 features yoga surrounded by goats, followed by strawberry picking

Maan Farms in Abbotsford is holding an event on Saturday, June 22 that they hope becomes the world’s largest goat yoga class.

The event features yoga in the field, surrounded by goats, with strawberry picking to follow.

It is a culmination of the strawberry full moon on June 20 with the summer solstice on June 21 and International Yoga Day.

Operations manager Gurleen Maan said the strawberry full moon was once used by an ancient tribe as a signal for the beginning of the strawberry harvest.

“As a health and wellness practitioner, I feel honoured to be combining agriculture and wellness in this offering on my farm,” she said.

“It’s a beautiful and refreshing way to cultivate joy, connect with nature, and practise mindfulness.”

The event begins at 10 a.m., rain or shine, at Maan Farms at 790 McKenzie Rd.

The cost is $25, and participants are asked to wear red or white. Visit maanfarms.com to register or for more information.
