The Mission Adopt-a-Block Society received a $3,520 grant from Vancity through its community project program.

This grant will be put towards the annual spring and fall clean-ups to help increase community involvement and cover additional hot spots in Mission.

The funding will allow Adopt-A-Block to expand its clean-ups, and provide more opportunities for Mission non-profits to raise money via the annual events.

More than 140 family households and over 25 community groups have committed to regular clean-ups of their neighborhood and other selected areas.

Vancity's community project grants program funds endeavours that support cooperative principles and practices, social justice and financial inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
