Mission Communities in Bloom Society held its annual awards night July 15, with the top honour of the night going to Jackie Conn.

The evening’s festivities recognized participants from the local garden contest which was held at the end of June. Following are the winners:

• Residential front yard: Barbara Strachan

• Residential back yard: Jackie Conn

• Service club project: Rotary Club of Mission AM

• Non-profit project: Mission Heritage Association

• School project, elementary: Deroche, West Heights and Hatzic elementary schools

• School project, secondary: Heritage Park

• Religious group garden: Mission Gur Sikh Society

• Heritage project: Lora Wade

• Business display residential: Schuh Boutik

• Business display commercial: Mackie Naturals

• Strata developments and retirement residences: The Cedars

• Clean environment effort: Frances and Ed Storozynski

• Industrial areas: Storage for Your Life

• Malls and large corporations: McDonalds

• Vegetable gardens: Glen Kask

• Most improved: LINC Society for the Soap Box Community Garden

• Special recognition: Ernest Jacobson Rose Garden

• Best effort all categories: Jackie Conn

• Unsung hero: Glen Flett and Sherry Edmonds-Flett
