Mission’s Dyane Betts has been elected as the commander of the Fraser Valley Zone in the Royal Canadian Legion’s B.C./Yukon Command.
Elections take place every two years, and alongside Betts, former Mission Legion member Carol Law, currently with Branch 280 in Chilliwack, was installed as treasurer during the convention in Whistler.
Each position term is two years, and involves twice annual meetings at the command level, and four times a year for zone meetings.
In addition, there are several workshops conducted throughout the year which serve to train new branch executives and to update experienced executives as they carry out their various functions and duties.
