Carts rounded up in recognition of volunteer

Mission's Howard Noa was a dedicated helper for Adopt-A-Block

Mission Adopt-A-Block Society collected 33 stray shopping carts July 30 in honour of a volunteer who died earlier this year.

Howard Noa, who passed away after a brief battle with lung cancer, spent years volunteering his time daily, picking up shopping carts around Mission.

On his birthday, July 30, volunteers took to the streets of Mission, rounding up 33 carts in just over two hours.

The proceeds from a barbecue fundraiser, which was held at a later date, were donated to Valley Christian School in Noa’s name.
