The 2019 Cops for Cancer – Tour De Valley came to a close last week with a special ceremony at Mission’s Clarke Theatre.
This year’s ride marked the 20th anniversary of the event.
Mission RCMP Const. James Mason hosted the brief ceremony that honoured the riders – made up of police officers, firefighters, corrections officers, and other emergency services personnel, from communities across the valley, including Mission – who took part in the nine-day, 800-kilometre journey.
The event raises money for childhood cancer research and support services at the Canadian Cancer Society.
This year’s event raised a total of $470,000.
