The Mission Record is welcoming a new journalist.
Dillon White comes to the Record after working with the Canadian Elite Basketball League as a beat reporter. He arrived in Mission from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia where he was born and raised.
White studied communication at Cape Breton University and journalism at the University of King’s College in Halifax. You can hear him on Canada West TV broadcasts for Trinity Western Spartans basketball, hockey, and soccer games.
He previously voiced basketball and soccer broadcasts for the Cape Breton University Capers and provided play-by-play for the Cape Breton Highlanders’ inaugural season in the NBL of Canada.
In his spare time, he enjoys watching and coaching basketball in addition to supporting the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also spends his free time writing screenplays and watching movies/television.
“I’m thrilled to be in Mission,” he said. “The prospect of getting to know the people of the city and reporting on the community’s news is one that excites me.”
Karen Murtagh, publisher of the Record said “We are excited to have Dillon join our award-winning team and encourage the public to contact him with any tips or story ideas.”
