Some traditions can’t be stopped, even by COVID-19.

Every Earth Day, Mission’s Windebank Elementary School has created a community message by having students form letters on the school grounds, while a photo is taken from the roof of the school.

Messages in previous years have included Let’s End Plastic and Save Our Earth.

It looked like that tradition would end this year due to students self-isolating at home. However, staff at the school decided they just couldn’t let the tradition die.

Teachers, support staff and administration gathered in safe distances to deliver an important reminder for Earth Day 2020.

This year’s message – BE KIND.
