Face mask fundraiser to bring in money for Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation

By purchasing a face mask folks will be supporting health care workers and hospitals in eastern FV

A local hospital foundation is selling face masks as part of a fundraiser and is encouraging people to wear them to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF) is offering three different logos to choose from on its non-medical face masks.

“By purchasing a face mask from Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation, you will be supporting health care workers and hospitals right here in the eastern Fraser Valley,” the FVHCF said in an announcement.

Each $10 mask is black, washable and adjustable with a logo in the left corner.

Proceeds from the sales of regional face masks will support the hospitals in the eastern Fraser Valley during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The sales from the Abbotsford Regional Hospital face mask will go to support the purchase of a UVGI Robot. This ultraviolet germicidal irradiation robot will be used to deep clean and disinfect areas in the hospital. This will kill pathogens, including the virus that causes COVID-19.

“Even if you are not showing any symptoms, wearing a face mask is a great step you can take to protect others around you and stop the spread of COVID-19,” FVHCF said.

Pick up locations are: Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Mission Memorial Hospital, Chilliwack General Hospital and Fraser Canyon Hospital.

Masks can be purchased at fvhcf.ca/facemasks.
