Last year's Mission FanCon had a Star Wars feel to it. This year's event at the Mission Library is set for July 12.

The Mission Library will be hosting Mission FanCon, a free one-day convention celebrating comics, art, cosplay, gaming, and fandoms.

The event is scheduled for July 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library (33247 2nd Ave.).

Among many activities going on at the library throughout the day, FanCon will include a Mario Kart tournament, a Manga drawing workshop with Janice Liu, Kpop dance lesson with Yunik Dance, Dungeons & Dragons, a Cosplay contest, Ninja themed storytime, crafts and more.

All ages are welcome. Please contact the library for contest rules.

For a full list of summer events, check out Mission Library’s Facebook page or www.fvrl.bc.ca .

Organizers are asking the public to consider using public transportation. Overflow parking will be available at Ecole Mission Central Elementary at 7466 Welton St.
