Thanks to the generous donations of Mission residents and businesses, the Mission Christmas Bureau was able to give Christmas gifts to 400 children, food hampers to 600 individuals and families, and as of December 20, the bureau has reached 80 per cent of its fundraising goal of $100,000.
The money raised will allow organizers to provide ongoing support for The Mission Food Centre for the next year.
The Mission Community Services Society Board would like to thank all the individuals, organizations, volunteers and staff for their support for the 2017 campaign and upholding the vision of “Helping People, Changing Lives, Building Community.”
