A Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) volunteer driver was walking to the First Avenue CCS office recently and was stopped by a passerby.
“You probably don’t remember me," she said, "but you drove me many times to the cancer clinic in Abbotsford during my treatment.”
The other driver did remember, and the former patient said her cancer is in remission as of a year ago, and thanked the man for his help.
The CCS driver program provides transport to cancer patients in need of the service at no charge to the patients; corporate and individual donations support the programs.
