The Mission Record has joined with the Mission Hospice Society and the Rotary Club of Mission Sunrise’s Starfish Pack program to create a new fundraiser, a cookbook.

The holiday season is upon us and that means family meals and delicious treats.

If you are looking for some new recipes and want to help your community at the same time, then the Mission Community Cookbook is perfect for you.

The Mission Record has joined with the Mission Hospice Society and the Rotary Club of Mission Sunrise’s Starfish Pack program to create a new fundraiser.

“We thought long and hard on how the Mission Record could help these local non-profits raise funds this season. With so many events cancelled due to Covid restrictions, it’s more important than ever to support these amazing local organizations,” explained Record publisher Karen Murtagh.

The cookbook is available for sale, with proceeds going to the two non-profit groups.

“It has been such fun receiving local recipes, cooking has a wonderful way of bringing families together. We are hoping people will purchase the new Mission Community Cookbook and enjoy making the recipes. It’s a perfect stocking stuffer, with the knowledge that you have supported this local fund raising initiative,” said Murtagh.

The Mission Hospice Society provides compassionate end of life care as well as grief and bereavement support.

The Rotary’s Starfish Pack program provides backpacks filled with food (enough for two breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks) for children to take home for the weekend.

Copies of the cookbook are just $10 and are available for purchase at the Mission Record office - 33047 First Avenue – and at many local stores and locations.

“This is the first time we have published the Community Cookbook and we really must thank all of the amazing local advertisers that supported us, we couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks so much for your support Mission!”
