The Mission Community Foundation is spreading some Christmas cheer this holiday season.

On Nov. 30, the foundation dropped in on the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation’s “It’s a Wonderful Christmas” fundraiser to give them a cheque for $10,000.

This was a grant request to purchase a colonoscopy machine for Mission Memorial Hospital and funding was provided from the Community Fund.

On Dec. 2, the foundation dropped in on the Seniors Centre’s Annual General Meeting with a surprise. Bob Ingram presented Jeanne Price with a cheque for $25,000. Funding came from the Marilyn Boswyk Memorial Fund and it will produce annual dividends to the centre in perpetuity.

Additionally, the foundation provided Mission Hospice with $4,000, Mission Archives with $2,000, Mission Library with $1,050, MY House received $700 and Lifetime Learning received $650.

All monies came from funds dedicated to these groups.

The Mission Community Foundation will be 35 years old next year and its executive director predicts that it will be a very exciting year.
