It’s almost time for one of Mission’s most popular holiday traditions – the annual Candlelight Parade.
Organized by the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce, the parade will feature more than 50 floats that will brighten Mission’s downtown with lights, music, and of course, Santa!
The parade takes place on Friday, Dec. 2, starting at 7:30 p.m., but before that, First Avenue will be closed, cleaned, and decorated, in anticipation of the arrival of Santa Claus and the largest night time Christmas parade in B.C.
First Avenue will be closed from Murray to Haig street, both east and west bound, from 4-10 p.m. to accommodate the parade. The chamber along with The City of Mission and help from the Mission Downtown Business Association, hosts this annual event.
This is a great way to celebrate the merriest of seasons and to bring the community together in Christmas spirit.
This event would not happen if not for the generosity and support of the local businesses and community organizations.
Special thanks to all of our partners and emergency/safety teams including the Mission Fire Department and the Mission RCMP and Community Policing.
