Registration for the 2018 Mission Festival of Trees is now open.

The sixth annual Mission Festival of Trees – and the dramatic reading of Henry Van Dyke’s The Other Wise Man – will take place Dec. 11-15 at All Saints Anglican Church Hall at the corner of Second Avenue and James Street.

Doors are open from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The dramatic reading takes place on Saturday at 7 p.m. (Doors open at 6:30 p.m.)

The event is in support of this year’s Mission Christmas Bureau.

The festival provides an opportunity to decorate a themed tree (no live trees, please) and have it on display at the Festival of Trees.

Organizations, businesses, groups, churches, families, and individuals are invited to register and decorate a tree at the festival.

“If you need a decorator, we can provide one. You provide the trees and decorations,” said a spokesperson for the event.

All decorated trees are given to the Christmas Bureau and will be distributed to families and seniors in Mission.

As well, all donated non-perishable food items, gifts, and cash are given to the Christmas Bureau.

Early-bird registration is $20. After Nov. 16, registration is $25.

Registration forms and information are available from Joy Cox or Margaret Peake at JMJmission@telus.net, Simone Redburn at simoneredburn@gmail.com, or from the church office, which is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 am. to noon.
