New chair named to Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation

Grace Saris has more than 30 years’ experience in financial industry

A new chair has been named to the board of the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF).

Grace Saris has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial industry and is passionate about helping make a difference in the communities served by the foundation.

Gerry Carron has taken on the role of past chair. He has served eight years on the board, three of those years as chair.

He has worked with the board and staff to help grow the revenue of the foundation to more than $2 million in 2015/16.

Other board members are: vice-chair Colleen Walker, treasurer Todd Kesslar, secretary Raylene Handysides and auxiliary rep Bonnie McEwan.

Board members are Michael Adkins, Shelly Avram, Peter Fry, Manpreet Grewal, Kerry Kinney, and Doug Lester.

Honorary members are Lorraine Hughes and Ethel Hooge.

“The skills and knowledge these individuals bring to the board will help the foundation move forward in raising more funds to help purchase much-needed equipment for your local hospitals,” said Liz Harris, executive director of the FVHCF.

The foundation’s main purpose is to raise funds and awareness to further the improvement of health care in the facilities and programs operated, funded or endorsed by the Fraser Health Authority.

The FVHCF serves Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, Hope, Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs.
