Mission Community Services has released a new cookbook called Social Food. All proceeds go towards the Community Kitchens program.

The Mission Community Services Society (MCSS) has released a new cookbook that offers 21 easy-to-make recipes.

These recipes include everything from Caesar salad, to kale chips, to stove-top lasagna. Quick and easy meals are right at readers’ fingertips.

Money raised through the Social Food cookbook goes back to help support Community Kitchens programming.

With Mission artist Andrea Walker’s design ideas, and writing input from MCSS staff, Social Food is expected to sell quickly.

The book contains information on programs offered at Mission Community Services Society, including Senior Services, Early Years programs, Settlement and Integration, and Housing.

“There’s a takeaway, there’s value. It’s not just handing over a brochure. There are recipes too,” said Karen Laing of MCSS.

Cost of the cookbook is $5 and proceeds go towards helping Community Kitchens.

Copies are available at the MCSS office at 33179 Second Ave. in Mission. Call 604-826-3634 for more details.
