Ninth Mission Festival of Trees opens

The event is a fundraiser for the Mission Christmas Bureau

The ninth Festival of Trees officially opened yesterday (Dec. 10) at All Saints Anglican Church, located at 33077 2nd Ave.

Volunteers, dignitaries and members of the public attended the ceremony which included music, crafts and dancers from CanDance Studios.

There are 25 trees - donated and created by local businesses and organizations – on display this year. For a donation to the Mission Christmas Bureau the public can view the trees and vote for their favourites.

The festival is now open and runs until Dec. 14. Viewing hours are 3-8 p.m. on weekdays and 2-4 p.m. on Saturday.

There will also be a dramatic reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas, Santa will be on hand as well as other entertainment and activities.

After the event, all decorated trees will be donated to the Mission Christmas Bureau for distribution to families and seniors in Mission.

Come out and vote for your favourite trees.
