Click your ruby slippers together and say “There’s no place like the hospice gala.”
The Wizard of Oz was the theme for the 20th annual Mission Hospice Society Gala Celebration on Saturday (April 26) evening. The event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the local organization.
Attendees definitely got into the spirit of things, dressing up as Munchkins (the Lollipop Guild to be specific) witches, lions, tin men and even a twister.
Guests also opened their hearts and their wallets as they participated in both a silent and live auction as well as draws and a reverse Bingo game.
Organizers spoke and presented a video on the work and services the Mission Hospice Society provide for the community.
A buffet dinner followed by dancing brought the evening to a close as guests headed out saying Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
