The third annual Mela Shoukeenena Da, presented by the Punjabi Mutiyaaran Women’s Society, took place at Fraser River Heritage Park on Saturday, Aug. 10 afternoon.
According to information provided by the society, Mela Shoukeenena Da is “more than just a gathering; it’s a celebration of strength, resilience, and community. By supporting SARA for Women, we aim to provide resources and assistance to women in need, helping them overcome their challenges and empowering them to thrive.”
The free ladies event helped celebrate, support, and empower women.

The Punjabi Mutiyaaran Women Society was established by a group of seven ‘Punjabi Mutiyaaran.’ While the term can have multiple meanings in Punjabi, it generally refers to a group of youthful girls or women. The organization is a non-profit society dedicated to supporting women, particularly the growing population of South Asian women.
