It’s kind of like Dragon’s Den but without the pressure and plenty of beer.

Pints n’ Pitches is coming to Abbotsford on Oct. 16 at the Trading Post Brewery.

The free event brings together people with an innovative mindset to foster potential business ventures.

“Knowing that Abbotsford is the business hub of the valley, we think it is the perfect place to launch a new local chapter,” said a spokesperson for the event. “We believe in leveraging our collective intelligence and creativity to evaluate the possibilities of transforming ideas into successful services, products, or projects.”

One of Pints n’ Pitches’ organizers, Johann Roduit, said he was excited about their recent partnership with TEDxAbbotsford.

“We know that TEDx is about sharing great ideas,” he said. “A lot of people have some side-projects they would like to launch, but they are not sure how to start.”

The first meeting is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. next Wednesday, but the idea behind the project is to kick-start regular community meetings.

While the event is free there is limited seating so interested parties looking to attend should RSVP at hello@pintsnpitches.com.
