In celebration of its 50th anniversary, SARA for Women has introduced a collection of greeting cards, created with the help of children living in its housing and support programs.
These designs will be available for purchase at the Igniting Hope: Celebrating 50 Years of Resilience event on May 28 at The Reach Gallery, as well as through SARA for Women afterward.
The cards were born from a morning of creativity facilitated by local artist Linda Klippenstein at Christine Lamb Residence, where children in SARA’s programs filled pages with vibrant colours using finger paints, sponges, and brushes.
According to a press release, “each child’s artistic expression was then carefully cut into petals, leaves, and stems to form a beautiful collage, which will be displayed at the event. This collaborative artwork serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience, hope, and strength of the women and children SARA supports.”
With 75 children currently in SARA’s housing and programs, this initiative highlights their voices and experiences while raising funds to continue providing safe housing, crisis support, and essential resources.
“These cards are more than just stationery—they represent healing, hope, and the power of community,” said Emmy Skates, CEO, SARA for Women. “By purchasing a set, you’re directly supporting the futures of women and children escaping violence.”
Attendees of Igniting Hope will have the first opportunity to purchase the new limited-edition greeting cards. Proceeds from card sales directly support SARA for Women’s essential services, including safe housing, crisis support, and outreach programs.
Following the event, a limited number of cards will be available for purchase. Please contact the Abbotsford office at 604-855-3363 or the Mission office at 604-820-8455 for purchase options. For more information visit saraforwomen.ca
