Schroeder gives reading at Mission Library April 19

Join Adam Lewis Schroeder, touted as one of Canada’s best young authors, at Mission Library April 19 as he reads from his new book, In the Fabled East.

Chosen by as one of the best books of 2010, Schroeder transports you back to the splendours of Paris and French-Indochina in the early 1900s. Both a historical adventure and love story, this richly interwoven fable is the poignant tale of mother, son, man and woman.

Schroeder has traveled widely and published stories in more than a dozen journals and anthologies. His first novel, Empress of Asia, was a finalist for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize and was selected by the Globe and Mail as one of the books of the year. He currently lives in the Penticton and is a columnist for CBC Radio One as well as a creative writing instructor at UBC Okanagan. Registration is required.
