Students from across the Fraser Valley helped spread the holiday spirit to those who were in local hospitals over Christmas and the new year.
The students created and distributed festive cards to hospital patients and residents of health-care facilities on Christmas morning. The initiative was organized by the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation's youth advisory committee.
Committee chair Ryan Tandiama said the cards were handed out at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Chilliwack General Hospital, Mission Memorial Hospital, Fraser Canyon Hospital, Bradley Centre, Heritage Village and Fraser Hope Lodge.
"The cards were distributed with the help of different people," he said.
Dr. Lakhir Jassal of the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation said the cards can make a different in the mental and emotional well-being of patients in care.
“it is important we spread kindness in this world and showcase the power of community spirit," she said.
