Third annual Pick & Pub March 16

The Mission Adopt-A-Block Society's fundraiser will see volunteers picking up litter in the downtown

This year the colour green doesn’t only represent St. Patrick’s Day, it also represents your support of your community and the local environment.

The Mission Adopt-A-Block Society is holding its third annual Pick & Pub event March 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is open to all ages and will include a cleanup of the downtown. Volunteers will be put in groups and given sections of the area to clean. Once finished, volunteers will meet at Mission Station Grill for lunch and festivities including a special roast beef buffet for a discounted price of $10, including tax.

Volunteers are encouraged to dress up in costume for their chance to win some great prizes. If you don’t have an outfit, just wear green to show your support.

Registration will take place at the Mission Station Grill parking lot (under the Adopt-A-Block Tent), from 11 to 11:30 a.m., and you will be provided with all the equipment you need to complete the cleanup.

With such a wet and dreary winter, the streets of Mission are looking more littered than usual. This is a great event to help bring awareness to our community needs, cleanup our downtown area and celebrate our volunteers efforts.

If you would like more information, to donate prizes or to pre-register please call 604-826-9423 or email
