For almost 30 years, the Mission Community Archives has preserved the stories and celebrated the lives of over 100 local women from a broad range of backgrounds through its Paths & Pathfinders: Women of Mission Program.

On Saturday, June 28 at the Mission Library from 2-4 p.m. the public will have the opportunity to get close up and personal with two of these women through an afternoon of  storytelling and reflection.

Known for "having a vision and being a risk taker and team builder as a leader to seize the opportunities for new possibilities,”” Judith Ray will share her unique experiences as an innovative health care professional and community activist, illuminating there are other ways of being and alternate paths to success when unburdened by stereotypes.

Driven by her belief that “within each of us is the ability and responsibility to attain our dreams, to overcome, to achieve, to become our own heroes,” Lori Wikdahl will reflect upon her experiences as founder of Mission Minor Football and being the first MS Walker across Canada, revealing how they shaped her values, beliefs and own self.

“This event promises to be a thought-provoking celebration of purpose, resilience and the power of storytelling designed to connect and inspire women,” said organizer and archivist Val Billesberger. “By attending this event you are also supporting the Paths & Pathfinders: Women of Mission Program.”

Tickets to Up Close and Personal must be purchased in advance through Eventbrite or the Archives website ( www.missionarchives.com). For further information, please call 604-820-2621.
