Have you ever wondered what Mission would look like in gingerbread?

Parkside Church is hosting a community gingerbread house contest and open house this weekend.

The church (located at 33837 Prentis Ave.) is raising Christmas spirits while raising money for the Mission Christmas Bureau.

Local residents were invited to enter the gingerbread house contest by applying, building and delivering a unique gingerbread house for prize consideration.

Dozens of entries have been received. People made replicas of iconic buildings around town including the bridge, Rocko’s the hospital, even the Mission Record.

The public can view the creations on the evenings of Dec. 16-19.

Covid safety protocols will be in place including the vaccine passport requirement.
