AUG. 27: Looking for a cool event to watch? Come to the annual Soapbox Derby! We have a variety of events for kids of all ages including a hot dog and pudding eating contest. This year the RCMP will set up a radar for the racers to see the actual speed of a soapbox car. SEPT. 17: Celebrate Mission at Fraser River Heritage Park as the community comes together to enjoy the entertainment of a multitude of events throughout the day. The lanterns which folks have made at the Mission Association for Community Living tent will be lit during the evening at Illuminaria, and at night there will be fireworks. The fun starts at 10:00 a.m. Non-profits can register tables for $5 with the Leisure Centre.
