Bernie and Red are returning to Mission for a show at Fraser River Heritage Park July 16.

The weekly live music at Fraser River Heritage Park continues this week with shows by Kat and Tony on July 11 and Bernie and Red July 16.

Kat Wahamaa and Tony Rees have eclectic tastes in music, harmonic sensibilities, and an ability to fashion timeless tunes that brings to mind everything from Emmylou and Gram to Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks. They have toured in Canada, the US, the UK and Japan to rave responses. Their recent work centres on a theme of finding joy in the fundamentals of life, whether you are down on your luck or surrounded by stuff.

On July 11, concert goers will have the opportunity to take part in Envision Financial’s Full Cupboard program and support St. Joseph’s Food Bank by bringing non-perishable food or cash donations to the concert. To learn more visit thefullcupboard.ca.

Local entertainers Bernie and Red will make an appearance in Mission as part of the Envision Twilight Concert Series July 16.

They began their performing career in the Fraser Valley and then moved on to cruise ship engagements and other international bookings. They perform extensively in the U.S., but Canadian appearances are few and far between.

They recently returned from a three-month tour of the southern U.S. and in the fall will be off again, heading to Branson, Miss., where they will perform at the historic Owen Theatre during October.

Bernie and Red have a reputation for presenting an upbeat and entertaining show with lots of laughs.
