Christmas events to note

The holiday spirit is starting to flow through Mission

There are several upcoming events over the next few weeks to get you into the Christmas spirit. Make sure you mark these down on your calender:

 

Saturday, Nov. 26.

Advent Concert at St Paul’s Presbyterian Church, at 7:30 p.m. Admission by donation with all proceeds going to Mission’s Hospice Society and Transition House.

 

Wednesday, Nov. 30. Mission Rotary Club’s Annual Christmas Carol Festival at the Clarke Theatre at 7 p.m. Admission is by donation to the Food Bank and Christmas Bureau.

 

Friday, Dec. 2.

The 28th annual Mission Candlelight Parade on First Avenue. Contact the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce for more details 604-826-6914.

 

Saturday, Dec. 3.

Fraser Valley Academy of Dance presents The Nutcracker at 3 and 7 p.m. at the Clarke Theatre. Tickets: 604-826-0097.

 

A dramatic reading of Charles Dickens’ “Christmas Carol” at All Saints Anglican Church Hall. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and reading begins at 7. Tickets are available at the church office on James Street.

 

Sunday, Dec. 4

Santa at the Blackberry Kitchen at Fraser River Heritage Park from 2-4 p.m.

 

Thursday, Dec. 8

Bright Lights, Cold Nights at Mission Library from 6:45-7:30 p.m. There will be songs, stories and a puppet show.

 

Friday, Dec. 9.

Jingle Bell Dance at the Mission Elks Hall from 6-10 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes a raffle ticket, a pop and a bag of chips. For more info contact Bryce at 604-826-8818.

 

Saturday, Dec. 10.

Joy Vox Community Choir presents their annual Christmas Concert at 7 p.m. at the North Valley Baptist Church. Admission is $10 and tickets are available at the door. Proceeds from this event go to the food bank.
