Early tickets available for Mission Folk Music Festival

The 24th annual Mission Folk Music Festival will feature great music from Northern Europe and the North Atlantic, with artists coming from Ireland, Scotland, Norway, Denmark and Belgium.

The 24th annual Mission Folk Music Festival will feature great music from Northern Europe and the North Atlantic, with artists coming from Ireland, Scotland, Norway, Denmark and Belgium.

The festival will also feature outstanding music from Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and Spain, as well as from across Canada and the U.S. With a focus on traditional and new-traditional music, there’s Celtic music, great singer-songwriters, Sami music, a little bit of Louisiana lilt, hot banjos and straight-ahead world music.

This year, the festival presents The Church of the Blues in partnership with the Historic Dewdney Pub, with 25 blues players from the local Mission-Abbotsford scene and from across the Lower Mainland, plus visits from the great Jim Bynres, the Crow Quill Night Owls and others.

Early bird tickets to the festival are available until June 30 at Shoppers Drug Mart in Mission, Tom Lee Music in Abbotsford, or by calling 604-826-5937 or 1-866-494-FOLK.

Three-day passes are $85/adult, $55/senior and $50/youth (age 13-19). Weekend passes for children ages five to 12 are $10 each.

Camping is available for $30 for the weekend.
