Movement, a fundraising art exhibition by artist Veronica Plewman, is being held at the Mission Arts Centre from now until Sept. 3.

Plewman will be donating all the proceeds from sales to the Mission Arts Council for its new building.

This exhibit of small works refers to themes the artist has been exploring over many years of creative experimenting.

Subjects include landscapes and trees, indistinct figures and silhouettes, dancers and islands. Plewman has an intuitive way of working and the results have been described as surprising and meaningful.

This is a cash and carry show so once you have paid for your selected piece of art you may take it home.

A colourful catalogue commemorating the art show is also for sale. Along with images of Plewman’s artwork. The artist has included thoughtful comments about the source of the images and her personal connections. The proceeds from the sale of the catalogue will also be donated to the building fund.

The public is welcome to attend the opening reception being held Aug. 20 from 1-4 p.m. at the Mission Art Centre 33529 1st Ave. (at Catherwood St.).

Come meet the artist and take home a piece of art. It is all for a good cause.
