Mission native Carly Rae Jepsen has been nominated for an American Music Award.

Carly Rae Jepsen has been nominated for an American Music Award in the New Artist of the Year category.

The awards will be presented in L.A. on Nov.18.

Jepsen’s hit song Call Me Maybe earned high praise in the music industry.

Jepsen grew up in Mission and rose to fame after signing with fellow Canadian Justin Bieber’s record label earlier this year.
