The summer weather has arrived and with it, things are really heating up at the Envision Twilight concerts at Fraser River Heritage Park.

On Friday, June 30, The Authorities take to the stage at 7 p.m. This newly minted band from Abbotsford are visiting Mission for the second time this summer after a successful appearance at Old Car Sunday in the Park on Father’s Day.

The group adds a little soul to their hard playing rock and roll and will have everyone moving and shaking. It is a perfect start to the Canada Day long weekend.

The Mission Community Foundation is delighted to partner with the Envision Financial Twilight Concerts to welcome the Vancouver-based band, The Ballantynes to the series on Wednesday, July 5.

Named as one of the Georgia Straight’s Best Bands of 2016, this is a ’60s inspired, six-piece band that is garnering fans from all over southern B.C.

Following the establishment of the band three years ago, The Ballantynes have been kept a hectic schedule playing clubs and festivals throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. They were recently one of the top 10 bands to make it to the CBC Music Searchlight for 2017. Known for their incredibly energetic horn section and infectious beats, this group will have the crowd on its feet or at the very least tapping their toes.

July 5 also marks the first Full Cupboard night at the park. This is Envision Financial’s signature cause and is an innovative community program designed to raise food, funds and awareness for Mission’s St. Joseph’s Food Bank.

Concert goers can join in the initiative by bringing a non-perishable food item or a cash donation to the event to help raise 100,000 pounds of food and $1 million by 2023. Donations can be dropped off at the Envision Financial volunteer tent.

The concerts take place rain or shine and the Special Olympics team will be on site to assist with parking as they have been proudly doing for more than 20 years.

The Envision Financial Twilight Concerts team is delighted to be part of the District Of Mission’s 125 celebrations. Concert audiences can pick up their 125 Passport at the Envision Tent on site at Fraser River Heritage Park and receive an official stamp! Collect all the stamps and be eligible to win some great prizes.
