Righteous Cut makes its way to the Clarke

The Deborah Lake film plays in Mission for one night only

Righteous Cut, a film by Deborah Lake, will be featured at the Clarke Theatre on Sept. 28.

The movie was produced in Vancouver and the Fraser Valley and stars Lawrance Yang as Frank Wang, and Sarah Kresak as Anna Sologub.

The story is about a middle-aged widower and new Canadian immigrant, Frank Wang, who can't find work as a surgeon and is forced to take a job as a chef's helper during the day. At night though, he helps Dr. Fox in his private clinic, but doesn't know the doctor he works for is involved in organ trafficking.

Frank finds himself in trouble when he tries to help out his Russian girlfriend's father who is diagnosed with a kidney disease.

The film, inspired by a true story, took about a year to put together. It will be playing at the Clarke Theatre at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Sept.28. For more information call 604-820-3961 or visit www.righteouscut.com.
