The Rio Samaya Band performs Friday at the Twilight Concert series.

As the dog days of summer continue so does the fantastic music at the Envision Financial Twilight Concert series at Fraser River Heritage Park.

Rio Samaya makes a stop at the park on Friday, Aug. 10.

Based in Vancouver, the Rio Samaya Band is Pancho and Sal, partners in life as well as in music.

Their performances are full of wonderfully enchanting Latin rhythms and romantic melodies in Spanish, including some Italian, English and French songs. Their style flows through the folkloric traditions of Central and South America, and their music blends elements of folk, rock, country, reggae, Latin and rhumba gypsy rhythms.

They have a unique style of translating simultaneously from Spanish to English. Together they create a gentle and compelling sound.

At the mid-month mark, Abbotsford’s own Madflower makes an appearance on Wednesday, Aug.15.

For more than 10 years, Madflower has been spinning out its own eclectic mix of indie rock ‘n’ roll and a variety of covers.

Deeply rooted in 1960s and ’70s rock ‘n’ roll, the band weaves its own magical harmony of folk, blues, and rock.

This is also the Envision Financial’s Full Cupboard night. Everyone is encouraged to bring cash or non-perishable food donations for the local food banks.

The park has been packed with more than 700 people each night. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and bring a blanket or a chair.

The Envision Financial Twilight Concerts run every Wednesday and Friday at 7 p.m. rain or shine.

All the concerts are free of charge and the Log Cabin Concession is open for refreshments, including popcorn and burgers.
