The Fraser Valley Taco Festival has been announced for Abbotsford Centre.

The event takes place Saturday, Sept. 14 from noon to 4 p.m. outside the centre at 33800 King Rd. near University of the Fraser Valley.

The homage to tacos includes $3 tacos in a variety of options, including the traditional chicken, beef and pork, as well as anything-goes versions from local and regional taco makers.

The event also features Lucha Libre wrestling, with a meet-and-greet session with the wrestlers.

Guests can also test their taste buds in the hot-chili-pepper-eating contest. The last person standing wins a prize.

Fans can vote for their choice of the best taco from among the vendors at the festival. The one with the most votes is awarded the Best Taco trophy.

The Fraser Valley Taco Festival also features the Tiny Taco Dog Beauty Pageant. To enter, dogs must weigh less than 25 pounds.

Tickets for the event are $14 (including service fees) in advance at ticketmaster.ca. Children under 12 are free.

Forms to enter the chili-eating contest and the dog pageant are available online at abbotsfordcentre.ca.
